SO we are working on our loan so that we can close on our town house (that has a small lawn) this week. We have had so much trouble with it, it is ridiculous. But there is a funny story.
We went to do our walk through on Monday night, and we get there and Reed was ready to go and asked us how we were doing. We noticed that Salisbury had changed their preferred lender from FSF (which is who we WERE working with) to First Colony. And we kinda told Reed that our loan officer was raising our interest rate on us...by .3% which is a lot. There was a guy there with him that got right on the phone and called First Colony and asked if they could meet with us. To make a long story short, the First Colony guy was going to be there at the office when we came back from checking out our home. And so this guy that seemed to have so much power and had made the phone call shook our hands and told Reed to keep him updated on what was going on with our loan and such.
Well we went to check out the house and as Reed and this girl, that was with us too (seller in training), were talking we found out that this man that had made the phone call was none other than Rick Salisbury...the OWNER of the company. WOW!
So we met with First Colony and found out they could get us a lower interest rate than we were getting with FSF in the first place. So naturally they are our new lender! :) And Mr. Rick made sure of that!
Everything is working out great and we are crossing our fingers that the loan and everything will come through so that we can close end of this week or early next week.
SWEET HUH?
