REXBURG...what what!

So, this last weekend, Richard and his cousin decided to go on a "man trip" down to St. George so I decided to go visit Bree up in Rexburg, ID. We had a blast! My drive up there was relaxing and I got there about 2:30 on Friday. We hung out, went to the store for the essential groceries and went to dinner on campus at The Crossroads, then Bree's apartment was invited over to a boys apartment to enjoy a night of kareoke. I haven't had that much fun doing kareoke in a long long time. We came home and hung out for a bit and then went to bed.

Can I just put in a plug for my sisters roomies. They are all so much fun, and they love when I am around, which makes me feel GREAT! They are all fun to be around and I am glad that my sister is able to live in an apartment full of fun girls! Now I am done with that!

On Saturday I got up around 9 and Bree got up at 10. We ate breakfast and got ready, then headed off to Idaho Falls. As we were approaching IF (short for Idaho Falls), I asked Bree if she knew where to go, and sure enough she didn't...haha taking after her older sister! So my mom got a call, she got on the trusty ol' internet and helped us out a bit. We were actually a lot closer than we thought. We were shooting for the mall, to do a little Christmas shopping. That was fun, we found all the things we wanted for a GREAT price, they were having AMAZING sales. Then we shot over to the Dollar Tree, to find some fun goodies for the roomies and then over to Wal-Mart where we bought a few other essentials. I then got a call from my good friend Cristine, who I haven't seen in FOREVER, and we decided to go out to dinner at TGIFridays. Her sister Brittany came as well. The four of us had a blast! Then off and home to Rexburg we went.
Saturday night was fun, we just relaxed, made some orange rolls and watched The Proposal (which is a fabulous movie, if I do say so myself). I love being with my sister.

Sunday was a happy, early day! We went to church at 9:30 and that was fun. Singles/Student ward...all over again! :) Then we came home and had a snack and off I went, back home, to see my amazingly handsome husband. Well it started to snow about one hour into the drive and I found out that my windshield washer fluid doesn't like 5 degree weather...hmmm...who does? So since that was frozen I got to get off the freeway a couple of times to wash off my windsheild! yeay!! Then about 2 hours into the drive my car started making a clinking noise...I was worried at first but then I figured it sounded like a loose lugnut, which we have been working on lately, so I didn't think anymore about it. Then when I was in about Sandy (in Salt Lake), my car started making a really fun noise...eeek! I got off the freeway and called my husband, don't worry...I was crying. About 45 minutes later he showed up, we took the car on a test ride, Richard didn't like the sound of it, and so we drove 50 miles an hour, with our hazard lights on, down the freeway. The car was getting worse at about Lehi, so I got off the freeway and sure enough, right on state street my car wouldn't go forward anymore! NO WAY...NO BUDGE. So long story short, a tow truck came to get us, and after thinking it was the transmission we found out it was actually a brake problem and it was Big-O's fault. So they fixed it all this morning, for free, and life is all good again! Big-O even paid for the towing cost. Yeay for us! So after being stressed and thinking I was going to be home at 6:30, and not getting home until 10:15...life is good again! :)

Now we are on our way to a Jazz Game...stay tune for that! :) Loves!

California...need I say more!

So, we decided to take a little vay-cay and went down to California. And we took Kyle, Richard's nephew, with us. Our main reason for going down was to go the the BYU-SDSU football game on Saturday afternoon. But we figured since we were already going down, that we would take a few extra days. So we went to St. George on Wednesday night and stayed with Richard's sister Christi and her 5 amazing children. I always love seeing them. On Thursday morning we got up and left to go home, it was a 6 hour drive. We arrived about 2:00 in the afternoon at my mom's work. She is the librarian at an elementary school. The boys (richard and kyle) put books away while I helped with checking books in and out for the kids. Mom was done at 2:45, so we went home with her. We took showers and then I went to visit my friend Anna and her little boy Jeremy. Anna is one of my very best friends. She and I have been friends since before we started school. We found out the when William comes, he and Jeremy will have the same age difference between them that Anna and I have. Fun huh? and funny if I might add. Then we went and watched a family friend, McKayla Cook, play in her Freshman volleyball game at Saugus. My old stomping grounds, weird? kinda! And dad got a new digital "heavy duty" camera. It is super nice, and he is learning slowly how to use it. Apparently one of the tenants in his building left it, and didn't want it because there were some things wrong with it. My dad found out what needed to be fixed and spent $80 on fixing it. It is an $800-$1000 camera. But he is having fun anyway! :) We got back home and ate dinner, I love eating dinner with my family, around the table, I am excited to have a family of my own one day.
Friday we went to the beach and it was 80 degrees...at the beach. It was so much fun there. We loved it. The water was cold, but what's new? The weather was perfect. And we had so much fun. When we got back to Saugus, it was 95 degrees and we all had sun burns from the beach. Richard and Colby went to Magic Mountain after we ate dinner and my mom took me shopping for clothes that I can wear for the next couple of months, since the ones I have don't fit so well anymore. She definitely spoiled me.
Saturday, Richard, Kyle and I got up early and drove down to San Diego and went to the temple. I haven't been there since my honeymoon, I also got my endowments out in that temple. Good memories. Then we went and got me a salad before we went to meet everyone for the tailgaiting party in the parking lot. We got there about 12:00 noon and hung out until dad got there with the grill, then we started grilling up the brats and hot dogs and chicken wings. It was so fun! We (as in me and Richard) taught everyone the Cougar Fight Song, or at least tried. The game started at 3:00, so off we went. We had so much fun at the game, and actually had really good seats. We could see everything. We won 38-28 and sang the Cougar Fight Song quite a few times! :) And we had this little boy, he had some kind of mental handicap, but he was so cute. We were sitting in front of him, Richard and I, and my dad was sitting next to him. And he kept talking to us, he was so excited about the game! It was awesome. We left the stadium and went to In-and-Out for dinner. Fun! We got home and hung out for a little bit, but went to bed soon after because we were all beat. Fun weekend.
Sunday we got up and left to get to St. George so that we could have dinner with Kyle's family for his birthday. We had some good BBQ pork and dutch oven potatoes. And there was also some good pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Thanks to the Robert Beers family!!! It was fun hanging with ya for a few hours. Then we made the rest of the trek home and after dropping off Kyle we got home about midnight...whew! Fun Fun Fun.
And back to work....

here is me...at 23 weeks!

So, I have this funny look on my face because I finally decided to take a picture of my belly, which I don't feel "exists" enough to really merit the worth of a picture, but here you go. I also have that look on my face because I have been out of it all weekend. I think my body is trying to fight sickness so I have just been overly sleepy all weekend long.

Yesterday (Saturday) I couldn't stay awake for longer than 2 or 3 hours at a time before I would take a nap. I woke up at 8 because my cousin was leaving our house, so I wanted to make sure all went well. She left at 9 and I went back to bed until 11:30. Then I got up and got some things done, and ended up falling asleep in the chair downstairs from about 2 until 4. Then I was up until 6 or so, and slept again until 7:30. The BYU game started at 8 and I watched that until almost 10, when I fell asleep yet again, and slept until my husband kindly woke me up, walked me upstairs and tucked me into bed (I don't know what time it was), and I fell asleep very easily. I don't even know when he came to bed. I slept until 9 this morning, with no problem at all. What is the deal? I know many people have been telling me that I am pregnant and might have a hormone imbalance that is making me sleepy, but I really think it was more than that.

Anyway, we are good tonight, my husband and I made a fine Sunday dinner as a team, and we enjoyed it together. I am lucky to have such a happy, helping husband! It doesn't get much better than this. So, enjoy the picture that I still feel does not have enough worth to be posted, but many people have been asking. I don't feel that I look pregnant just yet, so I just hope I don't just look fat.

Oh...PS...my husband, this last week, felt the baby move for the first time. I was talking about how it was moving and so he put his hand on my stomach. As soon as the baby moved, Richard looked at me with wide eyes and asked, "was that the baby" and I said, "yes sir". Richard was very excited! It was a happy moment!

ITS A BOY!!!

So, here is our little boy, William Robert Beers. This was the first picture that the senographer took, and he was pushing his hand up against my stomach. He has five perfect fingers. After this picture she told us that all of his body parts, including his bones, his organs and even his size was perfect. He is 2 lbs and 4 oz. And we are really excited about this new adventure in our life. Now that we can start planning, it will all come and the baby boy will be here before we know it. Hope you all are doing well, as friends, because here in the Beers home life is so good!

20 weeks.

So I am so glad I am not sick anymore, Hallelujah!!! This week has been really busy, but really fun. I am starting to show, to the point that if people didn't know I was pregnant, they are now asking. So we also decided, since we (Richard and I) have to wait until October 5th (22 weeks) to get the ultrasound done, you have to wait that long to see my tummy! :) I will post all those pictures at the same time. The ultrasound, the tummy and then you get to OF COURSE find out the gender of my little sea monkey. I feel really well, no morning sickness at all, I just have to eat all the time. The main thing I have a problem with right now is smells, I almost threw up at work today because one of the halls smelled HORRIBLE! No good. And I finally am eating normally, there are still a few things I can't eat because of the smell or because of a previous encounter with them, but I enjoy being able to eat the same thing as my husband for dinner. And this month, my new craving is BAGELS! Bagels and marinara sauce...crazy? I don't think so! It hits the spot. And life is so good!

its late...I know! 19 weeks.

So, my baby and uterus moved up a bit and therefore, some of my pants that were not fitting are now fitting again! Kinda odd...but I am happy. My mom bought me a new dress to wear this winter while I am pregnant. I am feeling good for the most part, there are good days and bad days. Our doctors appointment yesterday allowed us to hear the heartbeat again, and we heard it for longer. Richard's new best friend was the doctor we saw yesterday, when the doctor heard the heartbeat, he declared that it was very MASCULINE. And so Richard is holding onto that prediction, even though all of my friends are dreaming about my baby and the dreams are predicting a girl. We will see! Life is good.
We got to see a new neice and nephew this weekend in St George. Richards sister came down from Alaska with her two adopted children, and they are so so cute. They have SO much energy. But Richard loved it. We also got to go wakeboarding with some of his family. I was fortunate enough to obtain a nice cold while in St. George, even though it was HOTTER there! Explain that to me. And I can't take sinus medication or cold medication since I am pregnant, so I am getting along the best I can with my Vicks Vapor Rub. Yeay!

at 18 weeks...

As of yesterday I am now 18 weeks, and my pants really don't fit anymore. In the last week I have really started showing. And I need to buy new clothes. I also get to go to Wal-Mart and buy a body pillow today, for my comfort and enjoyment, and also so that I can get some sleep!
At 20 weeks, I will start posting pictures of my "bump" according to requests and also just because. We find out what it is on October 05, so we will keep you updated! :) We are very excited for this new fun adventure in our lives, and are grateful to all of our friends and family who love and support us! Thank you!

at 17 weeks...

finally feeling good. now I only get sick if I forget to eat, which happens more often than you would think. but I don't have morning sickness anymore. hallelujah!!! I am getting a little baby bump, but I haven't had to get new clothes yet, although they are getting tight. :)

ER and money..and a blessing in disguise

so the ER decided it wanted to be visited on Friday night. Pain in the side starting at 5pm and continuing...we got into the ER about 12midnight. After a urine test, a percocet, and three hours later, we left the ER with the explanation that my round ligament had been overstreched. We paid $100 for the ER and then Saturday morning we sold our tickets to the BYU vs. Oklahoma game for $100 EACH...thank you thank you thank you! A blessing in disguise, those tickets came, to help us pay for the ER expenses that we didn't know were were going to have at the time that we recieved the tickets.

OH MY GOSH!!!

so, we got a fed ex package on our doorstep today. Richard picked it up and realized that the Marriott Center ticket office had sent it, two day air mail. Well, as Richard opened it he was thinking...oh my gosh, this better not be the BYU vs Oklahoma game tickets that I asked for in May. And sure enough, that is what they were. Richard doesn't remember getting an email that he got tickets, and I don't remember being charged for them (50 dollars a piece, and I am suppose to be in charge of finances).
So we looked on our bank account history and found that we were charged 98.50 for the tickets way back in June and I don't remember that! :) hehe. But we have tickets to go to the game in TEXAS and no way to get there. So Richard is either trying to get one of his friends to get him there or we are going to sell them online. If you are interested in buying them or know someone who is, let us know!
Just one of those fun funny things that happen ONCE in a while! :) Too bad I can't go! :( I would have loved to.

"I hear the heartbeat, I hear the heartbeat"

Yesterday was our second doctors appointment. We are at about 15 weeks now, and since we last saw the doctor, our baby has grown from being a seamonkey to being an actual human being, with a heartbeat (still a seamonkey if you ask me, it is floating around in that unnatural goo inside of me). We saw a different doctor than before. The doctor we saw last time did all of the interrogation, and let me tell you that he was a hunk. Not married, not very old, very good looking...one of those guys you see as a doctor on a soap opera or something. Don't worry, I didn't fall for him or anything, but my husband was kinda uncomfortable that he was touching me and all that! :) haha.
Well, our doctor yesterday was an old, fat man, that made me smile. I enjoyed this second visit better. Maybe because there was no poking and prodding. But also I think it was the doctor, I liked him and the way he handled our situation. So he asked me to get up on the bench and lay down. We pulled up my shirt, and he applied a little jelly to the bottom of my belly. Then he pulled out this thing (that I have seen before, but Richard hasn't) that looked a little like a radio. And as soon as he touched the meter to my belly you could hear (quite loudly, might I add), the heartbeat of our little one. Richard just had this smiley, amazed look on his face! It was fantastic.
Afterwards, Richard asked the doctor, in a joking manner, if it sounded like a strong, male heartbeat. The doctor laughed and said, "I will not be the judge of that". We asked a few questions and then we were done. It was so much fun, I had a smile on my face all day!
We get to go see our doctor again in 4 weeks and then 3 weeks after that (at 22 weeks along) we get to recieve our ultrasound. I am excited not only to see the gender of our baby (which Richard is waiting for---he wants a boy!), but also to see how well our baby is growing. Is he/she going to be big or small? And is everything healthy. The doctor said that after they hear the heartbeat in the office, the chance of losing the baby is very very small. I think that is what I have been most afraid of, because that is the hardest thing, to lose a baby. So blessings and cheers to all those who have struggled through that, and come out triumphant. I love you!

Prayers for Grandma

We went to our Heward (my mom's side) Family Reunion this last weekend in Burley, ID. It was fun just to see all of my cousins and all of their babies. But the best part was that I got to spend time with my parents and my siblings. We get along so well that I think we could win any reality TV show if we were a team. I think we rock!!! Anyway, we have our reunion on Friday and Saturday.
Usually on Saturday we got pick up our other grandma, dad's mom, and bring her to the reunion to enjoy lunch with us. She and my Grandma Heward are pretty good friends. When I called her to tell her that Richard and I were coming into town to get some things and we wanted to pick her up, she refused, she didn't want to come. So I told my dad that she wasn't coming back with us and off we went. And while in town we all (my siblings, and my cousin and RIchard and I) decided we were going to see a movie. So after we got back and the reunion ended for the day, we went to see a movie. We saw the new Harry Potter movie, and since we went to a matinee AND we were in Idaho, it was only $4.50! Yes! $4.50 per person. It was a total of $22.50 for 5 of us. It was so happy.
Well we got back from the movie and my mom was trying to get a hold of my dad, who had left her a message saying he had taken my grandma Wilson to the hospital because she wasn't feeling well. So, Saturday afternoon my dad took her to the hospital and he didn't return home until 11:00 pm. Grandma is stable, but she has to go through more tests and don't know how much longer she will be in the hospital. Please pray for Grandma!

TWO THINGS...

First-

I finally, TODAY, did what I have been needing to do for over a year. I went to the Drivers Lisence division and to the Social Security office and changed my name...yes yes I did. I am now officially Allysa Wilson Beers, that is Mrs. Beers to you!!! :) I am excited about it. But now there is a lot of work to change my name on everything else: house title, bills, at work, at the bank, and so many other places, I am sure I will be finding these "places" for the next year. But it will be good! I am excited. And I think I finally decided to do it because I am having a baby. Yeay!

So, Mckensie's baby

A couple weeks ago I was blessed with the privilege to visit my cousin McKensie (whom I referred to in a previous post), and her new baby. Finn is now two months old and he is so big and happy and I loved him. It made me really excited that I was pregnant. I spent four days with her and Finn and Caleb (McKensie's husband, whom I think is fantastic!). We had a good time. Just thought I would post that, I enjoyed my time with them and how amazing their little family is. I also, on the same trip, was able to visit my sister at school up in Idaho, and I had a blast being single for three days while I was up there, and then we went to our family reunion and everyone was happy to learn that I was having a baby. Life is so good!

Alright, here goes nothing!

So, now that we have something big going on, I decided that keeping this blog is probably a good idea. It keeps everyone informed and keeps my "journal" up to date! :)
On June 12th we found out, with multiple tests, that we are going to have a baby. Yeay for babies. It was a great surprise and now that we have gotten use to the idea, we are really excited about it. My family, of course, replied with screams and chants of "I am going to be a grandma, I am going to be a grandpa, I am going to be an uncle, I am going to be an aunt". Since this is our first, it is our parents first grandbaby and they are thrilled. Richard didn't get quite as good of a reaction out of his family. They were excited, but most of the ladies said, "I knew she was pregnant", and that wasn't quite the reaction Richard was looking for.
Since then we have slowly been collecting things from aunts and uncles and friends and grandmas and we are getting excited about it. At our first doctors appointment on July 20th we found out that our baby is due on February 5th. Richard hopes it is early, since the Superbowl is on February 7th. Yes, and secretly I hope that my baby is born on the 7th! :) hehe! Just kidding.
So as of today we are 13 weeks along, I am almost out of my first trimester, which will be good, if the sickness subsides with the change of trimester.
When we have more updates in this department, I will sure enough put them on here! Loves to all, and hope all is well.

After a long time of nothin'...McKensie is having a baby

We had a really fun baby shower. I got to see lots of my aunts and lots of my cousins. My grandma and grandpa came to the shower, and my uncle (who lost his wife in early 2008) brought his girlfriend...yes he refered to her as his girlfriend! The cutest thing I have ever seen.

I was able to spend time with my cousins, who I don't see often, including Kensie's sister Carly who is currently residing in Las Cruces, New Mexico. But we had fun hanging around, talking to the cousins, and pouring loves on all the little babies that our cousins brought, and getting excited for Kensie's little one that is coming at the end of May. Yeay!!! SO I brought my camera and didn't take any pictures, but this one was a pretty good one of Kenz and Carly and myself.

OH, and that little purple thing in the bottom of the picture, was our style points! It was our cousins little girl who kept getting in the picture, so we had to take this picture a couple of times. But she loves being in pictures! That purple thing is her balloon, and THAT needed to be in the picture, for sure. :)

How Time Flies...

I am sorry a million times over. But life gets busy and unfortunately this was not on the top of my priority list. But here we go...many things have happened in the last 6 months or so...

-I had my 23rd Birthday
-We had Thanksgiving in California, which was amazing
-We had Christmas with Richards family in St. George, that was so fun.
-We have a few friends getting prego
-We had friends get engaged
-I got an intern at work
-A neice was baptized
-Richard lost his job
-We got rid of the kitten (long story)
-Richard got a new job

SO...those are just a few things on our list of many things that have been keeping us busy!!! :)
