William's haircut!

BEFORE:
a happy camper with lots of curly hair!
DURING:
actually enjoying the haircut more than it looks like, he is just doing one of his funny faces.
AFTER:
just as cute and as cheesy, just without the curly hair!

This was all done last night. And this morning he runs into my room yelling "momma gel lotion, momma gel lotion" (which means he wants gel in his hair!). So I put gel in his hair and it spikes up! The best I got was a little bit of chicken feathers in the back. The only reason we cut it, is because he freaks out when he takes a bath and it takes FOREVER to wash all the soap out of his hair. He hates when his head is wet!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy his funny faces as much as the post! :)

Just an update!

Still not doing great at keeping up my blog. Busy between work, keeping the house clean, enjoying time with my husband and son, figuring out why Richard struggles in school, William taking pills he isn't suppose to, and all that other fun stuff. Just being a mom and a wife! I love it all.

I am here to tell you a few things that William has mastered or at least is trying to master.
1. Recognizing pictures (animals, food, among other things)
2. Saying prayers (copying what we say, as well as copying the prayers in church)
3. Singing "We will, we will, rock you" (with the sound effects and clapping included)
4. Reminding mom to do his hair and brush his teeth
5. Is able to take his clothes off, and tries to put them back on
6. Saying good night and kissing all of his stuffed animals
7. Counting with numbers 1-15 (but definitely not in order)
8. Safely going up and down the stairs
9. Loving his baths and able to help mom/dad get ready for his bath and clean up after (his favorite part is being lotioned afterwards)
10.Knowing his favorite movies and TV shows by name (which are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Diego, and Cars)
11. Knowing the names of foods he wants to eat
12. Saying "I love you" without being told first, and saying "I love you more" when we say we love him.

There are many more things he is learning and doing well at, these are just a few things that he has gotten really good at lately. We love our little guy! He's the best!

He loves to read his books Nana gave him for Easter. This one has lots of pictures and he goes through it and names all of the pictures.

His cheesy smile. He loves to smile for the camera, but I can hardly ever get him to give me a regular smile. This is what it usually looks like.

hanging out in Lyndsey's room

William loves hanging out in Lyndsey's room when were are at Nana and Papa's house. I think it is because it is so colorful and there are mirrors! He loves looking at himself.

<3 just guess what electronic device he is playing with in each of the pictures!

Santa? Who is Santa?

Do you SEE that cheezy grin. Where did he get that from. And why does he love Santa so much?

<3 I am pretty sure that the main reason William did so great with "Santa" is because of his close connection with his Uncle Bolby!

SIBLINGS WITH SANTA!!!

<3 Taking a picture with Santa was so much fun!

<3 Sitting on my brother's...oh I mean, Santa's lap was great!

<3 Richard couldn't convince Santa to let him sit on his knee, so Richard had Santa sit on him!

Gingerbread houses and "Fruities"

FRUIT LOOPS have to be William's most favorite cereal...actually most favorite food in the whole world. So when we showed up at the Cook's house to make gingerbread houses on CHRISTMAS EVE, and he saw the "Fruities" he was so so so so EXCITED!!!! And then when I asked him to put them on his house, he seemed very confused, and then decided he would put them on the house if he could put one in his mouth for every one he put on his gingerbread house.
As you can guess, it took a while to make the house and he was definitely a happy boy! Eating all those "Fruities"

Our Christmas Card

The Beers are here to hope your year was wonderful and blessed and that your upcoming year will find you happy and healthy. We have had a wonderful year, hard times and all, and are so grateful for the many blessings we have received. We are glad that our families are so happy to help and that we share a close relationship with each of them. We are grateful for our Savior, and his atoning sacrifice, and for our Heavenly Father and all of the blessings he has bestowed upon our family and hope that our loved ones feel His love in their families as well.
This is Richard checking in with you. This past year I became Mr. Mom. I started school and during the week I watch three children whose combined age is 7, yep. . . you guessed it, I’m an accounting major! The kids that I watch belong to Allysa and I, (William) and my cousin Cheryl, (Avery and Adyson). Avery is four years old, and Addy is two. . . William, well, we’ll let him tell you all about himself later in this letter. I love the kids, and I have become very proficient at making Ramen, and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches. If you want one just let me know, but if you’re an adult with a job I will charge you.
This is Allysa checking in with you. I have been working, A LOT. But I love it. Luckily in April I got a job working as a Recreation Therapist that turned into a full time job in June. I got to quit my other jobs including a GREAT job at Kmart (haha). Although, just a secret between you and me, I am still working at Kmart every other weekend in the cash office. I love my full time job, it is challenging, just the way I like it. And I love the people I work with, which is a blessing. I love spending time with my husband and my son, and watching him grow (my son, not my husband J ). I am grateful for the blessings we have received and all that we learned while struggling to get back on our feet.
This is William checking in. a goo be doo be moomie AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Dink’em mama, I-E-YOO! I-E-Yoo Mo! I yuv daddy, I yuv yo mama. Uggs, queeze! This is Richard, I will translate for William. He is extremely happy, ALL THE TIME! We couldn’t have asked for a better son. He loves to scream at the top of his lungs, and he loves his Mama and Daddy. And all the other family/friends that he gets to see regularly enough to remember them. He says I-E-You for I love you, and if you say it to him first he will tell you he loves you more. He gives the best hugs and squeezes, and always puckers up really good for a kiss. And he just recently started kissing people on their cheeks. And he can identify many body parts; eyes, nose, mouth, ears, head, hair, shoulders, fingers, toes, chin, and is just learning about his tummy. In February William will be two years old, but he’s already bigger than most of the three year olds in our ward. He’s going to be a football player, and hopefully a rich one. J His signing bonus is already set aside as his parents pay for supporting him!
Our Goal for this next year: Get our Christmas card out before Christmas next year. You’re lucky you are even getting something this year. We were so busy with work (I was in charge of Christmas for the kids at work, fun!), with Breann’s wedding, and just running around with an-almost-2 year old. We love our life, and love living in Utah for the time being. As soon as Richard is done with school we hope to move to a warmer place (since that is where we both originate from). We pray your holidays have been blessed and the New Year will bring you happiness.
We love you! Richard, Allysa and William Beers.

its been a LONG time!

Sorry it has been so long since the last post. We have been really busy and also a lot of things have been happening...
We need prayers for Richard to find a new job, and prayers for me as I try to start something new! Just a heads up, when both of those get going we will let you know! I PROMISE!
But William is growing like CRAZY! He is about 32 inches long, 24 pounds and I am sure his head is getting bigger too because he is SOOOO smart. We love him, and love that he is growing so quickly. But we are also feeling like we don't get to see everything he is growing so fast.
BUT HE IS CRAWLING! Yes, he definitely is! Last night he officially did it, whereas before he was doing the army crawl (and believe me he could get around like that just fine). But now he is moving his arms and legs without his tummy touching the ground.
We are going to a doctors appointment next Monday for his 9 month appointment and we will get all the "sure" measurements. But we are so happy for him and we can't get enough of him.
He has been having fun this last week with halloween stuff.

Nanna (Grandma Wilson) sent us a package with shirts in them. And William loves his "Mum's the Word" shirt!

On Sunday we carved pumpkins with Cousin Kyle and we had a big enough pumpkin to try something fun. William wasn't the biggest fan but he happened to give us a smile.

And last night we went to a Halloween party at the Care Center that I use to work at. He had fun there, and everyone thought he was super cute!

That is what we have been up to and I will update again soon! I promise!

kids do the darndest things

William loves to roll around, it is his way to get around right now, since he hasn't learned to crawl quite yet. But this is a whole new trick.

START:

FINISH:

He wrapped himself up like a taco. Richard said he looked kinda like a turtle. But he was so cute. And he did it so quickly we didn't even notice what he was doing until he was all wrapped up in the blanket that he was laying on!
Kids DO the darndest things!!! It made us laugh.
